"You can never be overdressed or overeducated."-Oscar Wilde
The Happy Arkansan helps millennial women thrive in college, in life, and online.
Let's be honest, being a young adult is difficult! There is so much pressure, thoughts of failure, and we are all just feeling our way through life and trying to survive on the other end of it all (while looking hella cute in the process). If you are interested in hearing the "I don't have it all together, but I am trying really hard" story, then this is the place for you, my friend! I can't wait to bring you along on the ride and show you all the fun things I have planned for you.
The Happy Arkansan was started in November of 2011 (under a different name at the time) as I was trying to make my way through college residence hall life. As I have gotten older (I was 18 when I started the blog) I have grown a lot. I want people to learn from my mistakes, make their college/young adult experiences better, and fill me in on all the details of their super awesome lives.
So who is the girl giving you all this awesome advice on life? Hi, my name is Amanda Cross!
I am an Arkansas native and I like to shop small. I am a recent college graduate (University of Central Arkansas-May 2015) and I currently attend graduate school at Arkansas State University. I got my undergraduate degree in Sociology with a Criminology concentration and a minor in Anthropology and I am currently getting my MA in Sociology. When I am not hitting the books I am working on this blog or working on my national officer position with my sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma where I run our Instagram and Pinterest pages. I am your average run-of-the-mill wants to be involved with everything young adult.
Likes: Pretty colors, alternative rock music, preppy clothing, donuts, bows, picking the perfect accessories to go with my outfits, monograms, smiling, laughing, laughing so hard I start crying, and helping others
Dislikes: Waking up before 9 AM, being late to things, McDonald's All-Day Breakfast menu not including McGriddles, flowers as gifts, cliffhangers, and losing items I really like to wear
Now that you know a bit about me, I'd love to know something about you too. Feel free to shoot me an email using my contact information below:
