5 Ways to De-Stress

For the last year of my college career Fridays were my awesome days. After a long week of school I would use my Friday afternoons to de-stress and wind down. I encourage that you de-stress a lot more often than just on Friday afternoons and hence are my 5 ways to de-stress after class.

5 Ways To De-Stress In College | College can be a very stressful time for students. Click through for five ways to de-stress in college so that you can have the best experience and feel refreshed and ready to tackle anything college throws your way.

Take A Nap

It doesn’t have to be a long nap. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour. Just take a nap and worry about homework later. Take a power nap and then wake up a little more refreshed. Napping is a good way to process information and just take a break from the world for a minute. Don’t forget to set the alarm.

Read for fun

During college it is so easy to get wrapped up in reading for class or “reading” for class that you forget to crack open a good book. Read a few chapters of a book you’ve been dying to read or a good short story. No matter what you read, read something. Reading is a much better way to de-stress than wasting your time texting and watching TV at the same time.

If you don't have time to physically pick up a book, I really encourage you to try out Audible! It is a great way read more books, and it's so easy because the books read to you. Try out Audible today and you can even get two free audibobooks. I use Audible every month to read more books and try out new genres. It's one of the ways I treat myself every month.

Eat

I am not talking about stress eating either. I am talking about true eating. Not going to McDonalds or any restaurant. I am talking about actually enjoying eating. Prepare a meal with your roommates and truly enjoy every bite of your dinner. I mean you could go out to eat, but don’t just eat, truly appreciate whatever food you are putting into your body. Take your time and eat with friends. Eat slowly; talk and laugh a lot.

Go to the gym

Working out is one of the best ways to de-stress. Take a yoga class or just work out in the cardio room. Tip for working out that de-stresses—follow your own time table. Don’t try to outpace the girl with the size two waist standing next to you. Go as slow or as fast as you feel comfortable. You don’t even have to try and burn calories with this. Just take about 30 minutes to an hour to just hydrate yourself and work out.

Craft

Crafting is a fun way to de-stress. Take to Pinterest and try your hand at that cool project you have been wanting to try. Crafting is a great way to de-stress because the results of your time spent de-stressing are immediate. After your de-stressing session you will have a wonderful new creation to be proud of.

I hope you enjoyed these five ways to de-stress. What do you do when you want to de-stress?
