As the summer approaches for many, it’s time to think about how to get more done. When it’s sunny all day, it can be challenging to buckle down and focus. You may be dreaming of a vacation, a day at the pool, or anything but sitting down at your desk. Today, I teamed up with my friends at Healthy Choice® to share some tips that will help you get more done this summer.
Before we delve into the excellent tips and tricks for this post, I want to chat about these fantastic dishes. The Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers are super simple to make and readily available at your local Walmart. If you can, I would encourage you to check out Walmart’s online grocery service for added convenience. Walmart’s online grocery service is amazing because you can pay for everything online and have your groceries brought to your car. When you want to enjoy the summertime, this is a great service to have. Walmart’s online grocery service isn’t available at my local store, but I’d definitely use it if it were. These Cafe Steamers meals were super easy to find in the freezer section of my local store, though.

Now, let’s get into the best tips that will help you get more done this summer.
1. Regulate Your Sleeping Routine
First things first, if you want to get more done this summer, you have to regulate your sleeping routine. I know that many of us are used to having a relatively free summer. When I was in school, I would stay up all night and sleep all day. My old routine is not a healthy sleep cycle. The thing is, most people are awake and active during the day/evening. If your day is just getting started at 1 PM, you are missing out on a ton. I know it’s so cool to do this because you are used to the lack of freedom that a school schedule comes with, but after a while, this isn’t a good fit.
Creating a wonky sleep schedule can also hurt you when it’s time for a vacation or a road trip. If your natural inclination is to sleep until noon, that won’t change when you are on vacation or when you want to go on a summer day trip. It’s best to have a natural nighttime sleep schedule instead of trying to mix it up during the summertime.
2. Stock Simple And Easy Meal Solutions
Cooking is excellent, but sometimes you need something simple around the house. Meal prepping is an option, but I love these Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers during this time of year. They are so quick to make. For most of the meals, you pop them in the microwave for about four minutes. You don’t even need to poke holes or take the plastic off the top (that’s how it steams!)
As a person who works from home, I am always looking for a simple and tasty meal solution that I can eat without spending an hour a day over the stove when lunchtime comes. These meals are the perfect solution to my problems. Plus, they all include great protein, lots of delicious vegetables, and amazing sauces in every meal. These meals are amazing which makes sense given that their mission is to create a healthy meal that’s easy for everyone to prepare.
3. Schedule Summer Activities
If you want to get more done, be it more work or more fun time, schedule summer activities. Why is scheduling so important? Scheduling helps you:
- Look forward to something, so you get more work done when it’s appropriate.
- Make sure you have some fun summer activities on your calendar instead of waiting and wishing.
If you want to go to more concerts this summer, buy some tickets, and put it on your calendar right now. Leading up to the shows that are on your schedule you will have something to look forward to. Having that date in mind ensures that you step up and get all of your work done so you can truly enjoy the concert.
4. Enjoy The Best Of Both Worlds
Since I work from home, I am all about trying to create the best of both worlds when it comes to summertime. Being outside, especially when it gets a bit cooler in the morning or the evening can be amazing.
Have you ever considered how you can work and enjoy the summertime fun at the same time? Pull up a chair, bring your laptop or notebook outside, and even grab a Healthy Choice meal as I did. I plated up the Beef Teriyaki Cafe Steamers meal, brought out my journal, and did some brainstorming for future blog content outside. It was beautiful and shady under the tree, which helped me enjoy my time outside.
These meals are lightweight but satisfying, so they are perfect for an afternoon meal outside. You want to be careful outside during the summer, drink plenty of water, so you are hydrated while enjoying the warm, sunny weather.
5. Be Spontaneous
Last, but not least, don’t be afraid to be spontaneous! Summer is often a bit unpredictable. You never know which adventures could be headed your way. Don’t hesitate to enjoy the moments you find yourself in this season. Take the random road trip to see a concert with a friend, read a book on the beach, go to the movies too many times, et cetera. There is so much to see and do this summer. I want you to make sure you do it all.
I know that summertime socializing can be daunting. I’m an introvert by nature. It’s okay to take an afternoon off every blue moon, just don’t make a habit of it if you have work to do.
Conclusion: Summertime Is For Fun!
That’s it, y’all! I am so excited for the transition into summertime. I know that we will have so much fun this time of year. Are you ready for all the activities you are going to get into this year? Don’t be afraid to live your best life, and make summertime simple. You don’t need to spend hours over a hot stove or spend all your time clicking away at a computer in a cubicle. Get out there, explore, save time in whatever ways you can, and have a ton of fun this summer. Don’t forget to bring along your favorite Healthy Choice Cafe Steamer meal for all your summer adventures.
