If you know me, you know that I am always trying to find ways to get out of my regular eating habits while saving time and not having to cook for hours on end. You know I love any meal that I can prepare quickly! I enjoyed reviewing Freshly for y’all a few months ago, and when I saw there was a similar service out there, I knew I needed to try it for y’all. I tried GoReadyMade for a few weeks, and I wanted to give you my honest opinion on the service.
Are you ready to check out my GoReadyMade review?
GoReadyMade is delivered via FedEx like most food delivery services. I never have any complaints about how it comes to my home.
I feel that the GoReadyMade packaging is a little bit better than most services, but it might be because I get the four meals plan. It seems that there is just enough packing material to keep your items cool all day. I don’t like a ton of extra fluff, so it has just the right amount of packing material as far as the packaging is concerned.
GoReadyMade boxes are delivered in a typical meal service box. They are packaged in a makeshift cooler with a lot of ice packs around your meals. If you’ve ever ordered from other delivery services, you’ve seen GoReadyMade’s packaging before.
My first package wasn’t delivered until 3:57 PM, so it spent all day with FedEx and was still very cold by the time I put everything in the fridge.
Here is a picture of the packaging itself for these meals. They each have particular instructions, so you need to read the back of each meal you intend to prep.
GoReadyMade pricing is pretty good for what you are getting when you order. Every plan is pretty affordable considering the meals are nice and filling. You get a great amount portion-wise for each meal you buy from GoReadyMade. I made a little chart so you can see exactly how much you’ll be spending on each plan.
|Meals||Price Per Meal||Shipping Price||Total Cost|
|4 Meals Per Week||$11.99||$3.99||$51.95|
|6 Meals Per Week||$9.99||$5.99||$65.93|
|8 Meals Per Week||$8.99||$7.99||$79.91|
|10 Meals Per Week||$7.99||$9.99||$89.89|
How To Prepare GoReadyMadeMeals
There are two ways to prepare GoReadyMade meals. During the first week I made all the meals in the microwave, but during the second week, I prepared meals in the oven.
All GoReadyMade meals are supposed to take around 3 minutes in the microwave and 15 minutes in the oven. These meals are quite easy to prepare.
When it comes to the microwave, you usually have to take off all or part of the plastic and take out the sauce packet. When it comes to the oven, you have to remove the entire plastic seal and remove any sauce that comes with it. If you have fish, you need to unpack that whether you cook it in the microwave or the oven.
Overall, I loved all the meals I had with GoReadyMade. They were all delicious, filling, and easy to prepare. I think my favorite dishes were probably the chicken fajitas, soy glazed steak, and the cherry balsamic pork chop. I liked any dish with broccoli or potatoes in it.
Let’s take a look at all the dishes I got in all their glory!
Note: I didn’t try to dress these up much. It doesn’t mean they weren’t great. I loved most of these dishes to be honest. If I didn’t like any of the dishes, trust me, I’ll let you know!
Honey & Ginger Cod With Snow Peas And Rice
Smoky Chicken Fajitas With Sour Cream, Peppers, And Onions
Korean Style Beef Bowl With Shredded Carrots, Zucchini, And Rice

Here Are The Dishes That I Baked
From here on out, I will be showing you dishes that were baked in the oven. I bought the cherry balsamic pork chop twice so you can see how it looks both microwaved and baked.

Cheesy Tortellini Bolognese With Hearty Tomato & Beef Sauce
GoReadyMade Versus Freshly
I’ve tried both Freshly and GoReadyMade at this point. I will say that I love Freshly because of its diversity in food. While GoReadyMade has some tasty dishes, I don’t think that it’s at the level of Freshly yet in terms of being versatile and having that great rotation of food. BUT, I will say that GoReadyMade delivered a fresher experience than Freshly did. I don’t know if GoReadyMade will be able to sustain that level of freshness once they become a bigger company though. I’ll surely keep my eye on the quality that GoReadyMade delivers over time for y’all.
I think you may have to test them both out to see which service resonates for you. They are both great services to give your money to in my opinion.
Conclusion: You Should At Least Try GoReadyMade
After trying this food for two weeks, I have concluded that you should at least try GoReadyMade! I honestly loved the food, and I think that most young adults would too. I felt like I was eating food that someone meal prepped for me versus eating food that was akin to a television dinner.
Here are a few things that surprised me about GoReadyMade:
How Fresh The Food Was
Yes, you are looking at that fish correctly. This was how my creamy dill salmon looked before I put it in the oven to cook. You just don’t get that quality of food unless you are making it step-by-step using a recipe from a service like BlueApron. For this to be as simple as sticking it in the microwave or the oven, I was impressed. All the fish dishes were this fresh. The other dishes were also just as fresh as this one was.
How Great The Meals Were Whether I Put Them In The Microwave Or Oven
I made sure to test these meals in both the oven and the microwave. I will say that I liked the oven versions of the meals a little better because things seemed to stay fresher that way. These meals were still excellent in the microwave though so if you are in a pinch, it’s acceptable to heat them through quickly instead of pre-heating an oven and cooking them that way.
How Simple The Entire Process Was
The entire process was simple from ordering my meals online to getting them to cooking them. There wasn’t a part of this process that I got stuck on because it was confusing to me. I am obsessed with how easy GoReadyMade was. I didn’t have to go out of my way to cook anything, and that’s the cooking us millennials deserve!
