Everyone loves an excellent podcast, or at least that's what I'd like to think. I was a little slow getting on the podcast train, but once I was on it, I was on it. Here are some podcasts every millennial should listen to, according to me, a cool millennial *insert “how do you do, fellow kids” gif.* I am always looking for more podcast recommendations, though, so if you have any, PLEASE send them my way.
Before we begin: I am linking to these shows on Apple Podcasts, but most if not all these shows can be found on other podcasting websites like Google Play or Spotify. Yay for options! Let's get into the podcasts every millennial should listen to!
1. Offbeat Grad
I couldn't start this list of podcasts every millennial should listen to without mentioning a podcast I was on. A few months ago, Samantha reached out to me about this new podcast she was starting to help students go off the beaten path and stop sitting in 9-5s they hate. Instead, Samantha wants you to work in a place that doesn't suck your soul out 40 hours a week. I loved the concept of this podcast, and we created an episode all about freelance writing. Also, Samantha has created episodes about all sorts of things from monetizing your blog to working abroad after college. You will adore this podcast!
2. Boss As Fuck Podcast
You guys know how much I adore Katie's business Metal Marvels, I mean, I wrote an entire blog post about it last week. This year Katie also created a podcast all about business, she titled this podcast Boss As Fuck. I think this is a podcast every millennial should listen to because it's so freaking honest. Katie delves deep into everything from why she left a business she was so passionate about to the rebrand of her company that happened in the last few years to the fact that she has a business coach. If you want honesty mixed in with lots of sentence enhancers, this podcast is for you!
3. Jen Gotch Is Okay…Sometimes
When I heard that Jen Gotch was coming out with a podcast, I knew that I had to listen! Jen Gotch is one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram, and I knew that her podcast would be equally as informative and fantastic. In case you have no idea who Jen Gotch is, where the fuck have you been? Jen Gotch is the amazing creative behind the equally amazing brand Ban.do, you know, the brand that is serious about fun?! Jen Gotch has been so forthcoming about her problems and triumphs on her Instagram Stories, and this podcast is an extension of that. Seriously, you must follow this podcast!
4. Pursuit With Purpose
Pursuit With Purpose is a podcast started by the amazing Melyssa Griffin. I found Melyssa a few years ago, and I have taken multiple of her classes to grow my little space on the internet. I continue to learn from the lessons she taught me, and I continue to take her course modules today when I need help with certain things. Pursuit With Purpose is her attempt to help people get out of the rat race of chasing goals, and into a life that's more sustainable. I think that this is a podcast every millennial should listen to because it teaches you that life is about more than just attaining goals, but also creating a systematic way of doing so that doesn't burn you out or make you feel bad about yourself.
5. Mindful Productivity Podcast
Do you need a kick in the butt on how to be more productive? Well, we chatted about productivity earlier this week (so you should check that out if you haven't already.) On to this podcast, though, because it's filled with tons of stellar advice on how to live a more mindful lifestyle. I think we often get caught up in the #girlboss lifestyle and we spend our time trying to be as busy as possible, without understanding that mindfulness is essential. In this podcast, Sarah blends mindfulness and productivity to create a winning combination that will help you get shit done. Yes, please!
6. Dear Hank & John
Dear Hank & John is a podcast produced by one of my fave YouTube channels, Vlogbrothers. It's one of the stranger podcasts I listen to, but I have been watching the Vlogbrothers for a while, so it only made sense that I listened to their podcast too. In this podcast, Hank & John answer fan questions, talk about space news, chat about the soccer team John sponsors, and so much more. Most of the podcasts I listen to are business or personal development oriented. This one is a little out of left field because of that. It's always great to have those podcasts in your line up though.
7. Jenna & Julien Podcast
The Jenna & Julien Podcast is another podcast that's a little out of left field. I've been following Jenna for years (I honestly don't remember when I subscribed.) I love following Jenna & Julien's relationship through the videos on Jenna and Julien's channels. I was so excited a while back when I realized that they also had a podcast. Even though I didn't follow the podcast from the beginning, I've been watching for a few years now. It's an excellent podcast to listen to or watch. They have all the episodes available as videos on the Jenna Julien YouTube channel, so I usually watch the podcasts as it adds another dimension of awesome to all the podcasts. There are 197 episodes so far, so if you are looking for a podcast with a backlog, this is it!
Conclusion
I am so excited that I created this list of podcasts every millennial should listen to. Podcasts are such a fun way to speed up your commute time, learn about new things/events in the world, and feel more connected to your favorite internet personalities. I hope that you enjoyed today's article and that you found a new podcast to listen to, at the end of the day, isn't that what this is all about?!
