Oh my goodness, can you believe that Thanksgiving is around the corner? After that Christmas is quickly approaching and then the New Year won't be far behind. I love this time of year because it reminds me to cherish and love my family, but it is v. stressful. Today I have partnered up with my favorites at Tai Pei to discuss all things holiday. Specifically, I am going to be sharing 10 things all millennials should do this holiday season.
So kick back and relax with your favorite Asian food from Tai Pei, and let's discuss my top ten things:
1. Hang Out With Friends & Family
The holidays are a time where you should hang out with your friends and family often. Whether we are in college or we have a career of our own, we often don't get to take the time to enjoy our friends and family as much as we should. Take this season as an obligatory chance to hang out with friends and family.
2. Take Some Time Off
Now, the older you get, the less time off you will probably get to take. Alas, you should take as much time off as you can with your school or job. Enjoy those days off, drink all the hot chocolate, and eat all the fried rice from Tai Pei. It's the little things, y'all.
3. Wear All The Sparkly Dresses
This season is the perfect season to get dressed up, wear sparkly dresses, and enjoy every single moment of your life. Take every opportunity presented to you to wear a sparkly dress, that's just a cardinal rule of life. And if those moments don't present themselves, make them happen (hello, holiday photo shoots just called!)
4. Read A Book For Fun
I am all about reading although I don't do it nearly as much as I want to. It's not about that though, sometimes you gotta make the time to read happen. It's not always going to be the best option when you have some free time. So, force it and shove it in those down times. Also, audio books are a total necessity for any millennial wanting to read more.
5. Try A New Food
I am a huge believer that during the holidays the scale doesn't really count. With SO many yummy foods all around, it's okay to treat yourself to some holiday goodies. It's also a great idea to try something new during this time of year, you know, because food.
Over the past few months, I have tried so many varieties of Tai Pei. I love the fried rice and Asian dishes from Tai Pei because they are easy to cook, filled with yummy proteins and vegetables, and just a great item to have around the house for a quick and easy lunch or dinner.
You have SO much to do during the holidays, so why complicate it further with wondering what meal you are going to have. Here are some of the great meals I have tried from Tai Pei recently:
- Beef with broccoli
- Sweet and sour chicken
- Chicken fried rice
- Shrimp fried rice
I can't wait to try even more of their amazing frozen fried rice flavors. If you are interested you can still get a coupon for a $1 off any Tai Pei single serve Asian food dish. These meals are only $2.28 at my local store so that means with a coupon they would only be $1.28. Chances are your store has a pretty similar price to mine, so #yes for a meal that is that reasonably priced with or without a coupon.
If you are interested in Tai Pei, check out their store locator to see where you can find Tai Pei close to home.
6. Give Back To Your Community
The holiday season is the perfect time to give back to those around you. Take some time to volunteer at the local soup kitchen, donate old coats, or anything you can. If you don't have time, so many places could use monetary donations. Many families in and around your neighborhood are probably affected by things you don't even know. Plus, on a national scale there are so many states and islands in the United States dealing with the remnants of hurricane season right now and they still need our love, support, and donations!
7. Catch Up With All The Fall Television Shows
I am a TOTAL fall television junkie. In my opinion, the best television shows come out in the fall. So sit down, grab your popcorn, and watch all the fall television. I am definitely thinking about Scandal and Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit right now. Plus, the best companion to any fall television binge session is a fried rice meal from Tai Pei or two.
8. Try Not To Treat Yourself Every Time You Purchase Presents
Ugh, I know, it's hard. The urge to pick up items for yourself while shopping for other people can be strong. I mean, I can't stop you from treating yourself all the way, but try not to create a 1:1 situation, please. You don't need a gift for yourself for every gift you purchase.
9. Be Present While You Are Giving Presents
It's so easy to live our lives through our cell phone these days. To look at our holiday through the lens of a camera or a Snapchat filter. I am all about taking photos, but also give yourself some time to enjoy the holidays off camera this season. You will cherish those memories as well.
10. Get Ready For The New Year
It's time to start considering all the amazing things you want to accomplish in the new year as well. You are capable of amazing things. So, this year I want you to consider where you want to be this time next year. At least for a little bit! 🙂
Conclusion
I love the holiday seasons. From all the holiday songs to my family to remembering all that I have to be thankful for the holidays are amazing. Take some time to enjoy the small things in life this season.
