Disclaimer: This post was brought to you by ELOQUII. They graciously provided some of the pieces for me to style in this post. All opinions are my own.
A while ago I was rummaging through my wardrobe looking for clothes because I wanted to do a photo shoot, but I couldn't find anything that I wanted to wear. I am not a style blogger by trade, but I love to add in my own photos whenever possible to help tell the story (or just showcase my style.)
I don't want you to feel the pain that I did when I was trying to make my outfit work and it just didn't. So today on the blog I am sharing my tips on what to do when you feel uninspired by your wardrobe.
1. Do your Laundry
I know, I know, that is a really simple and tedious answer. But it's SO true. Often when I feel uninspired, it's because all my cute clothes are in the laundry hamper and not in my closet. SO, take some time to do a couple of loads of laundry and see if you feel better afterward (you probably will!)
2. Search Pinterest & Style Blogs For Style Inspiration With Pieces You Have
We get in clothes ruts. We often only think about the most obvious choices usually, but our wardrobe can offer so much more! When I am in a rut, I usually turn to Google and think about the pieces that I have. What could potentially look good together? Then I Google for celebrities or just style bloggers wearing those pieces together.
3. DIY With Clothes You Don't Like Anymore
We all have clothes that we don't wear because they are too big, too small, or we just don't like them anymore. There are SO many things you can do to breathe life back into the clothes you don't like and there are a million tutorials out there.

4. Shop At A New Store
If you are still feeling uninspired, now it is time to add some pieces to your collection.
There are SO many stores out there to try, y'all. I love shopping from new to me stores and just getting out of my comfort zone a bit.
If you are a plus-size girl like me, you will probably love to try shopping at ELOQUII! It is such a great store to shop at, and they have so many fun products (with new stuff added daily.)
I love ELOQUII because they really cater to the plus market. They have beautiful clothes in a wide array of plus sizes (14-28) and they are all well designed with quality fabric.
Get out of your comfort zone and shop somewhere new online or in store. You are bound to find some cute outfit inspiration that way.
5. Try A New Color
For this look, I tried a color that I don't normally gravitate toward–olive green. I saw this dress and I thought it looked so cute, but I wasn't sure if I could pull it off when I put it on. I was excited to try it out though. Trying new colors when you feel uninspired is great because it allows you to open up your wardrobe and try all sorts of new and exciting pieces that you never tried before.
You may want to do some Googling before you decide to purchase a new color online or just go to a store an try on pieces in that color. When I am Googling I usually look for the new color I am trying on people with skin tones like mine. That is the easiest way for me to picture a color on my body, but you may have a different way of imagining the color on your body.

6. Add Some Accessories
If you are feeling really uninspired, you want to add accessories that really make an outfit unique. Here I added this adorable felt hat from the ELOQUII website.
Some other ideas for accessories you can add to your wardrobe are:
Belts | Belts are great for creating form where there wasn't any before. This is great because it easily gives your outfits shape and shapeless clothing can be a pain point for many women and one that leads them to feel uninspired by the clothing they already have.
Scarves | Scarves are SO versatile. You can use them in your hair, on your neck, and even tied around your waist. There are so many different styles of scarves such as lightweight and thick scarves, circle and square scarves, and patterned and non-patterned options. You can really play around with them.
Purses | Not only are purses practical for holding all your stuff, but they also add great dimension and even a pop of color to any outfit. There are so many options for purses to such as totes, crossbodies, clutches, and your more traditional handbags.
Bangles | I ADORE adding bangles to my wardrobe. One of my favorite sites to get cute bangles is Metal Marvels because these bangles seriously break the mold. You have probably seen me talk about these bangles on my Instagram feed here and here to name a few times. These bangles aren't your average, and they make me so excited to take on the world!
7. Layer It Up
Adding new elements and layers to your clothes are the perfect way to make them new again and feel slightly different from the original piece.
Invest in things like button-down t-shirts, cardigans, blazers, jackets, etc. so that you can layer with your existing products.
I am so excited for all the styling potential in the dress I got and I know that it will look amazing layered with a camel colored cardigan in the fall!
